Management of Gaucher disease will also include supportive care, which will
be individualized to each person:
Temporary immobilization and pain-relieving drugs may be offered for people experiencing bone crises
Drugs called bisphosphonates that are used to treat osteoporosis may also be suggested with regular monitoring
For some people, orthopedic surgery and joint replacement may be necessary
Physiotherapy, occupational therapy and massage therapy may be available to help relieve pain
Psychological support should be routinely offered to you
